Sorry about the general lack of posts, as the mother has already mentioned, I was quite busy with the finals, and after them I just didn't feel like it. So...Christmas was great! We had many many people at our house on Christmas Eve, making the traditional Christmas Eve program that Tara and I do much more awkward than usual. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here is a brief overview of the Christmas Eve programs thus far:

By Christmas day everyone had left except for Mike Allbright who spent christmas with us, you may have recognized him in the video.

Here's the aftermath.

between Christmas and New Year's there were very few postworthy events with the Griersons aside from one spectacular sunset,... ...but I suppose that's kind of boring.

For New Year's Eve, we again had many many people over. We did the traditional fondue,...

...which was delicious as always, then played all manner of games until midnight.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I know we haven't posted anything for a long time. Spencer is in the middle of finals and as he said, he is, "Stressed to the point of physical illness". Here is a picture of him writing one of his many papers. Everyone say, "Ahhhhhhh", like you are feeling sorry for him. There. Thanks. I'm sure that will make him feel better.

Since he has been otherwise occupied, I decided to write a post so my blog is not super boring like some others I know who haven't posted in over a week. Here are some pictures of my real gingerbread house, complete with candy windows and a light inside. Spencer is very creative and was the actual designer of the house. I merely built what he told me to build.

Thanksgiving is finally over...TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

So today being the day after Thanksgiving, we decided it was high time we decorated the house for Christmas. We had Holly, Shannon, Katie, and Kelsey over to make gingerbread houses.

Mine was the best, but there were other good ones too.

After about five hours of that, we decorated the rest of the house, including the traditional christmas village.

Tara's Solo

So Tara finally got a CD of her famous solo, and after a very long time deliberating on how exactly to get the song to you the viewer, I have decided to make a little video. It's pretty boring, but hey, the song's what matters, isn't it? It's way quiet, so turn up your volume.

Sorry that the quality isn't that great. If anyone has suggestions on how to get this song on a post in a better way, that would be quite nice.

Tara Stuff

So Tara is home for Thanksgiving, and we thought we would give her a car. We got a white 1995 Toyota Corolla that has no stereo, no power locks, no power windows, and will eternally smell like cigarette smoke. Here she is sitting in the passenger seat because she doesn't actually know how to drive a manual...
...but she happily gave it a whirl anyway

It was tara-fying (hehe)

Flat Stanley

On Saturday we got a letter in the mail from Josh Payne's elementary school. Inside was a paper doll and the following letter (please forgive any mistranslations):

Dear Aunt Jenny,

Weve been reading a book called Flat Stanley. He had many adventu(res) and was flattened by a bulletin board. I am mailing you a
flat Stanley to have an adventure with you. Can you deco(rate) him with a face, (hair), and clothes? When he returns I look forward to learning about his trip. I would love you to send back pictures. Any extra details would be exellent.

Love, Josh

Tara's reaction was frighteningly enthusiastic. she ran upstairs and grabbed the materials needed to clothe Stanley and worked on him all the way to the Gingerbread Festival.
We had a lot of fun with him there.

The Adventures continued when we went to lunch! Then he helped us pick out clothes for Tara, which got really boring. He made gingerbread cookies and hand turkeys for John (yes, Tara's John),

and he picked out a movie for usOverall, he had a pretty boring day with the Griersons.

Yay Carpet!!!

For those of you who have been to our house, I'm sure you remember the green carpet in our family room. It's the sort of green that etches itself in your memory. We are happy to announce that the green is, once and for all, entirely out of our lives. We now have yet another color of brown to match our house's scheme, and it's like, rully rully soft. You should all come visit us so that you can feel our soft soft carpet, unless you don't know us. In that case, stay away from us!!

Gingerbread Festival

So went to the gingerbread festival thing at Thanksgiving Point the other day, which was...intense..., along with Holly, Shannon, Nickell, Kylee, flat Stanley, Katie, Kelsey, and the Kirschbaums. We took Stanley along because this sort of thing is us at our most adventurous, (if you don't know who Stanley is, just laugh anyway). It was actually kind of neat because although the majority of the houses seemed to have been made by four-year-olds, there were four or five ones that were incredible. We should have taken pictures of them, but we didn't. Sorry. My favorite was a two-foot tall mansion with windows made of melted candy and trees with little spikes of green frosting for each needle. there was also one with a the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and other neat buildings that Shannon really wanted to eat. I am immensly surprised that I've managed to carry on this long. Hmm.
